Baby Steps, Day 9, Part 2

Thought of the Day…As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness. ~Henry David Thoreau

If you recall from Baby Steps, Day 9, Part 1, I broke the day into two parts. I had a very successful day! πŸ˜€

As mentioned in Part 1, the FlyLady says that Baby Steps, Day 9 is β€œDeclutter a few minutes at a time”.

Morning (Before Work) Routine – NO work today, so just what I did after I got up

  1. Get up and dressed – YEP
  2. Look at sticky notes in the kitchen and bathroom – YEP
  3. Put out ONE Hot Spot for 2 minutes – YEP, for more than 2 minutes
  4. 5 minute Room Rescue – YEP, for more than 2 minutes

During the Day Routine

  1. Recognizing the negative voices and change them to positive. That is what FLYing (Finally Loving Yourself) is all about. – YEP
  2. Read Big Tent or FlyLady.Net email messages
  3. Keep your sink shining – YEP
  4. Walk a minimum of 7,500 steps but goal is 10,000 steps – I was on my feet most of the day and walked quite a bit, but I didn’t wear my pedometer. I am going to take a β€œYEP” anyway. πŸ˜‰

Before Bed Routine

  1. Keep your sink shining – YEP
  2. Put out ONE Hot Spot for 2 minutes (The FlyLady recommends doing this twice a day) – YEP, for more than 2 minutes
  3. Set out clothes for tomorrow – YEP
  4. Go to bed a decent hour – NOPE (can you tell from the time on this post πŸ˜‰ LOL! Hubby just called my cell phone and said, β€œBed, NOW!”)

Here’s what I got accomplished today… πŸ˜€ The flowers are sitting where we usually have a fruit bowl, but no fresh fruit for the counter right now. I want to go buy some fresh flowers… these are looking sad.

I am looking so forward to walking into the kitchen tomorrow and not seeing the little piles that were sitting on the island this morning. πŸ˜€

Do you ever feel joy from a decluttered countertop?
