SNAFU
Have you ever had one of those days that you were praying was a bad dream, but in reality it wasn’t?
Well, Saturday was just such a day in our house… In a nutshell, there was a SNAFU* when the our microwave was being removed so our new one could be installed…
There was some damage found hidden behind the old microwave that has been there for quite some time and we didn’t know it. We’ve lived in our house 14.5 years and the house is 17 years old. Needless-to-say, I’m not a happy camper!!!
I’m sorry to do this to you, but for now I am going to wait to share all the details. SORRY!
This much I can tell you… the IDIOT who installed our old microwave (when the house was built) didn’t do something right and there are a couple of big holes in my kitchen wall and some other damage!! ARGH!!!! 😥 We have contractors coming this week to look at it and let us know what needs to be done. When I know more I’ll let you know.
Have you had a SNAFU day?
*For those not familiar with SNAFU… it means Situation Normal All Fouled* Up. I know that many use another “F word”, but like I’ve said before… my mom and daughter read my blog and I choose to keep it clean. I also know that my daughter has heard the other “F” word at school and other places, but still… for now, I’m going with Fouled up.
Sorry about your day and the holes, etc. That is very frustrating! I’m always getting on to my husband for being a perfectionist because it means that normal jobs take twice as long. He keeps saying “do it right the first time and you won’t have to do it again.” I guess if the first guy would have done it “right” – you wouldn’t be in this mess!!
Hope it all works out and doesn’t cost you a fortune!
And as for the “F” word – thanks for NOT using it. No matter how many times you hear that word, it just brings this thought into my mind…….”idiot”.
Thanks, Debbie, for the kind words of encouragement! We’re hoping it doesn’t cost a fortune to fix it either, but are prepared just in case.
Thanks again!
Stef
That so sucks! My snafu this morning was finding my bills that are both due at the end of the month! And I found them in the oddest of places…. one in a cookbook in the bedroom… the other in a reading book in the kitchen. Makes perfect sense doesn’t it? Hope the SNAFU turns out way better!
Wow–that really stinks. We found lots of interesting things when we moved into our house too. Let us know how it is going!
Hi Julie! Thanks for stopping by. What really stinks is that we’ve lived here 14.5 years and we’re only just now finding it! 😥
