New Kitchen, Part 2: Contractors

Thought of the Day…You Want it When?

We have chosen our cabinet supplier and am 99.9% done with the plans. The plans I posted in my New Kitchen, Part 1 post are just about right, but I have two minor changes to discuss with him tomorrow. I also need to see him again tomorrow to get some info for our contractors. I will post the updated plans when I have them.

Remember the mold?

I thought I would introduce you to our cast. Today, you’ll meet two of our contractors that are going to help us get rid of that mold…

This is Brent.

Brent is certified in mold remediation and has been integral in identifying what needs to be done to get the mold out of our house. YIPEEEE!! In addition, he is the estimator and has been our key focal point. He cracks me up! Actually, he cracks up when Hubby and I disagree about something. It is kind of funny! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Meet our project manager Brad.

Brad is responsible for making sure everything is done in the right order and on time. ๐Ÿ˜€ The cabinet supplier said that it will take 3-4 weeks to get the cabinets. Brad will be a hero if this gets done by Thanksgiving! But if it takes 4 weeks, I do not expecting that to happen.

No pressure, Brad…

…Just kidding… there is pressure…. Remember what Brent said tonight? I start making Christmas cookies Thanksgiving weekend… Seriously, I start my Christmas preparations Thanksgiving weekend. I make a lot of really great goodies at Christmas… but I need my kitchen to do my baking.

I really like that both Brent and Brad are sensitive to the fact that if they start taking out the mold we loose our stove area. It will take about 3 days for them to get rid of it. I realize that they canโ€™t do much if we donโ€™t have the cabinets. So, Iโ€™m praying that all goes well and we can get them in 3 weeks.

Brad will call me tomorrow to let me know when theyโ€™re going to start the demolition on the mold wall.

When I see the cabinet supplier tomorrow, I will try and get a picture of him so you can see him, too. By the way… he sounds just like Leonardo DiCaprio!

In the meantime, Iโ€™m trying to relax now that the plans are done. We still buy our new sink and get Brent the paint color and moulding and tile/grout choices… OK, so much for relaxing! ๐Ÿ˜‰
