November Roses
Yep, you read that right… November roses…
Portland, Oregon is known as The Rose City. I don’t live in Portland, but do live in Oregon. We usually have rain nine months out of the year. I HATE our near-constant overcast rainy season (October-June). I am not a vampire and like the blue sunny skies. I complained several times last spring about Mother Nature, see my weather posts.
It’s like that again. 😥
But today, I smiled (and then wanted to cry). I looked up and saw my roses had a few new buds and some open blossoms… this made me smile…
…then when I walked over and looked closer… I saw aphids! UGH! I HATE HATE HATE them!! 👿
So, please ignore any of the little buggers you see in this pictures… I didn’t want to mess with them. I haven’t edited color or adjusted levels…
Just wanted to share my November roses…
Wishing you a bit of sunshine on this dreary day (in Oregon)…
No idea what a aphid is….
And rain 9 months out of the year… wow, my hair would be awful in those conditions!
Aphids are nasty little pests that suck the life out of a flower. Ladybugs LOVE to eat them. I just can’t seem to keep them around, which is weird.
Beautiful roses! My parent’s have a fairly good sized rose garden down in Salem, and yes, the aphids are the worst! Thank goodness for ladybugs!

I wish I could keep the ladybugs around… I don’t get it. There are a ton of aphids.
