Jan’s Dilly Bread

wpid-Advice-2010-10-5-06-38.png

A couple of days ago, Pioneer Woman posted a recipe called Jan’s Dilly Bread. I think I am going to make this over the weekend… I have everything but the dill seed.

I’m not too sure about the “seed”. I’ve only used dill “weed”.

Does anyone have an idea about dill seed vs dill weed?

  • Don’t ask me… the husband and I have been wondering that too….

  • I’m sure you can get away with dill weed. I am always substituting herbs.
I like your blog, and especially your header of Arches! Great park!

Hi Mads, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your input on the dill weed. My biggest concern is if I were to use dill seed would the seeds be crunchy. I don’t want that.

Thanks for the compliment on my Arches pic. It was a beautiful place to visit – hot in July during the day. Can only imagine what it’d be like in August. ;)

Hi Stef, One of my favorite breads is rye with dill seed, it would not be the same with the dill weed. The seed does add flavor and when you bite into it, it is alttle crunchewy :) . I think the dill weed would change the recipe but would be very good. So did you decide on Phase 3, and when does it start? your a brave brave soul to start that so soon. :)
