Kansas City Storm Pic to Raise Money for Joplin

I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. It’s “home” to me… even though I have not lived there for 29 years… 🙁 Recent storms which have hit Joplin, MO tug at my heart strings so much.

A friend of mine sent me a link to the amazing photo of KC during the recent storm which rolled through the area. The first thing I thought of was “Ghostbusters”.

It turns out the photographer, Scott Cook, posted the image to a local news channel’s web site and it has gone viral since. Wlll, Mr. Cook is doing something AWESOME… he’s selling 8×10 photos for $15.00 and 11×14 for $20.00 with all the money going to Joplin, MO Tornado Recovery. The photo was taken from the top of Bishop-McCann on May 24, 2011.

Well, I didn’t want to steal the photo so I wrote the him and asked for permissions to post his picture here. He said yes. I am also posting instructions on how you can get your own copy and help out the people of Joplin, MO at the same time.

Ghostbusters, right??? There is even a photo circulating with the Stay Puft man in it. I received a Facebook post from a high school friend, “I was right where that pix was taken at that sane time. Watching from my office. Thought I was on a ghostbuster movie set.” No kidding!

$15 for a fantastic photo like this is nothing… help out those in need!
