23 Years and Counting
Thought of the Day…An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow. ~Author Unknown
I had planned on this being my post on Sunday night, but was too tired from celebrating…
Planned on it being my post last night, but life… errrr…. the Trip to the ER interfered… (how do you like how I used “errrr” with “Trip to the ER” – cute, eh?? 😉 Sorry I just needed to lighten things up! :D)
Now, on with the story…
This is how Hubby and I looked 23 years ago (this past Sunday) after our wedding…
…I miss that waist…
I made my veil… Oh, wait you can’t see it.
…Here it is…
I hand a chapel length veil with a blusher. I sewed little tiny pearl-like beads all around the edge… it was a good idea, but boy that took a long time. Well worth it though… I think it looked so pretty…
See that handsome young man walking me down the aisle? That’s my brother; I’ll call him Dr. B. Hey, Dr. B thanks for doing that by the way! I can’t believe you were ever that young! (I know… I know… you remind me every year on my birthday that I am older than you. 😉 )
See the little girl on the right? She caught my bouquet. Want to know some trivia? I caught her mother’s bouquet when I was 12.
Anyway… I digressed there for a bit of nostalgia… now back to my story…
Here we are 23 years ago this week on our Honeymoon at Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada….ahhhhhh Beautiful British Columbia!!! (in case you don’t know it that is the slogan on B.C. license plates ;))….
…I miss those legs…
This is us this past Sunday, just before going to our 23rd wedding anniversary celebratory dinner… The Offspring says, “Wait! I want to get a picture of you two!” She did a great job!
Oh…. I’ve gotten older…. duh! It’s been 23 years!
Note to self…you’ve also gotten heaver…need to workout… 🙁 But… I hate working out… But you need to do it. Remember for the most part, you eat right… but “gotta get your butt in gear” to loose your butt and get that waist back….
LOL! I crack myself up! 😀 Hopefully this will self-motivate me.
Wow, those are great pics!!! I was….9?….at the time:) I had never seen pics from your wedding. Love the dress and veil!
Hi, Kirstie, thanks for stopping by! 😀
I thought you saw the wedding photos when you came for a visit, but that was forever ago. 🙁
I fell in love with my dress when I saw it in a catalog… When I tried it on I couldn’t resist. I used my next paycheck to buy it. I couldn’t find the veil I loved, so I decided to make it. I also made other things for the reception. It was fun.
This post has made me nostalgic, I may have to do a Reflections post.
You guys look Fabulous!!! and both you and your husband look oddly familiar to me but for different reasons :). You remind me of one of the relatives on my grandpa’s side of the family, your husband, a guy I work with 🙂 I love your dress, you didn’t get caught up in the horrific 80’s fad! Your dress is beautiful!
Thanks, Nicole. Wouldn’t it funny if we’re related! 😉
well that relative does live in KC haha 🙂
Congrats, Stef! Wonderful photos. You two look just as in love now as you did 23 years ago.
Ahhhh, Erin… thank you!
Congratulations, Stef! Loved the photos 🙂
Hi Abigail! Thanks!! Also, for stopping by. I’m glad you found me from my old site.
