Blessing in a small package
Today I spent time reminiscing…
…I thought about cottage cheese…
…I thought about how fast a tiny creature could eat her 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese… (for perspective… the bowls were about 1 cup)
…I thought about how the little gem never complained when an eight-year-old dressed her up… put extra clothes on her to keep her warm…
…how she loved to be on our laps…
…Thinking how much I was in L-O-V-E when the tiny 1.2 pound puppy joined our family… so small that she fit in the palm of our hands… My foot was bigger than she was… Her new toy was bigger than her head… (oh… please don’t hold the hair and glasses against me… not to mention the shoes, blue socks… UGH, what was I thinking??? Oh right … it was 1989!)
… the loves and kisses she used to give… oh yeah… and her tongue!
…the games we played… like attacking Daddy’s slipper…
…and fetch with a pair of socks which were bigger than her…
…she was more than a pet… she was a member of our family…
…Has it really been SIX-AND-A-HALF years!?!?! I still hear your bark and can feel your “neck hugs”… you brought so much joy to our lives… we were blessed to have you in our lives for 15 and 1/2 years… We miss you, Lady!!!
Happy 22nd Birthday, Girl! Today I had cottage cheese in your memory…
It sucks to loose a family member… and trust me, they become family… of course I don’t have to tell you that! And love the 80’s retro fit hair ;). I wonder if in 20 years we’ll look back at the 00’s haha… and think… what were we thinking! haha 🙂
80’s retro … nope… an authentic 80’s photo… 😉
Awww, what a wonderful tribute to sweet little Lady. She was very special !
Thanks. I miss her! She was so VERY special!!
Was her birthday the 25th? That’s my birthday too! 😉 It is always hard to say goodbye to a loved one, and sometimes the furry ones are the hardest, they give so much love!

No, Feb 24th. Yeah, Lady never asked for anything in return… unconditional love and companionship.
