I ❤️ dill! Years ago I found a salt-free seasoning by McCormick called It’s Dilly. I was in heaven.
Then, like all good things, it came to an end. McCormick quit making it. 😭
In 2017 I stumbled onto a copycat recipe which is close. So I tweaked it a bit and love it. Happiness again! 😃
It’s Dilly Salt-Free Seasoning Copycat
Servings and Yield:
1/4 Cup = 12 tsp = 96 pinches = 192 dashes
1 tsp = 8 pinches OR 1 pinch = 1/8 tsp
1 tsp = 16 dashes OR 1 dash = 1/16 tsp
¾ Cup dry dill weed (not dill seed)
½ Cup dry minced onion (not onion powder)
⅓ Cup dry parsley
¼ Cup dry basil
¼ Cup dry tarragon
2½ Tablespoons garlic powder
1 Tablespoon finely ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dry lemon peel
or 2 packets TrueLemon crystalized Lemon packets
- Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. If you prefer more of a powder, place ingredients into Vitamix Dry container, food processor, spice mill, or use mortar/pestle to grind into a powder.
- Store in airtight container
